SVP Car Draw Raises Well Over €100,000 for Cork Families

19/01/2017

The generosity of the Cork public knows no bounds, which was proven once again as it was announced that the recent St Vincent de Paul Car Draw raised almost €110,000 for individuals and families struggling to get by from day to day.

SVP extended their gratitude to all of those who supported the fantastic cause by entering this year’s draw, with Brendan Dempsey, SVP Regional Vice President revealing that the funds will go a long way for a lot of deserving people. Speaking about the successful campaign and reflecting on the 5,000 families helped by SVP in 2016 alone, Mr Dempsey explained:

“The money raised through the draw will help us in SVP to assist many families and individuals over the coming months”

Kathleen O’Shea from Glengarriff, Co. Cork was chosen as the lucky winner and received the keys of her new Ford Focus from Conor Cavanagh of CAB Motor Company, who generously donated a car for the fourth year running. Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr. Des Cahill was on hand at the presentation at the CAB showroom on Monahan Road to congratulate the winner on her good fortune and to join in thanking all who bought tickets and made donations.
